About Diane

Diane is a musician and radio host/producer on MPR’s The Current.

Primarily a singer and guitarist, Diane performs and writes an eclectic variety of music, including hip-hop, folk, jazz, and rock 'n' roll. She’s performed everywhere from Target Field to Target Center, First Avenue to Minnesota State Fair’s Grandstand, either with a full band, solo or performing as a special guest with acclaimed acts such as Kiss The Tiger, Haley, and Al Church & The Congregation.

Also a journalist, Diane hosts and produces The Current’s The Local Show. Every Sunday from 6-8pm, Diane curates a playlist of all Minnesota-based artists/bands, as well as interviews some of the most influential voices in the state.

Prior to her role at The Current, Diane worked as the talent booker for the Minneapolis-based venue/restaurant Icehouse. From dinner music featuring jazz trios, to monthly residencies featuring up-and-coming indie bands, to hip-hop dance parties, Diane was responsible for booking 7-10 acts per week.

Diane first gained notoriety in her hometown of Fargo-Moorhead. The Fargo South High School and Minnesota State University Moorhead music grad fronted the local hip-hop band D Mills & The Thrills. She served as the editor-in-chief of the local alt weekly High Plains Reader. And she booked music for the indie venue The Aquarium.
